Registration is open for Gypsy Moon Ball 2011, with savings through October 13 (postmark date). Although not at the scout camp, we have a full weekend in downtown Indianapolis, with many nearby restaurants & cultural events. And parking! And t-shirts!

Join us at 8 p.m. Tuesday (7:40 if you’re new or want help getting more comfortable dancing) to contra to music by LEDfoot with Ken Gall calling.

You’re also welcome at our Board Meeting, 6:30 in Earth House Cafe. (For fall 2011 we’re meeting 3rd Tuesdays instead of 2nd Tuesdays.)

Spirit & Place has posted their schedule for this year’s festival. We’re collaborating with other dance groups on “Circles and Swirls,” Wednesday, November 09, 2011 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM at Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ Gymnasium.

Sometimes we learn best by doing, sometimes by hearing, watching, etc. Contra dancers in Atlanta made a series of YouTube videos to help folks become skilled, courteous, & desired dancers faster.

September 13 features music by the Coffee Zombies and calling by David Ernst.

Although it’s a 2nd Tuesday, there’s NO board meeting, because we have to move them to 3rd Tuesdays for fall 2011. Everyone’s welcome next week, 9/20, at 6:30. We’re working on Gypsy Moon Ball, and even if you can’t attend, we seek volunteers to help with setup and cleanup (ask about reduced admission), snacks, and housing visiting dancers.

Indy Contra board meetings have moved to 3rd Tuesdays for fall 2011. We start about 6:30, and try to finish around 7:30 or 7:40.  Everyone’s always welcome.

Monday’s Labor Day. Summer’s over (even if equinox isn’t for a few weeks). Tuesday, 9/6/11 is a dancing day. Join us for Open Band with John Teskey calling

Contra dance from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Friday night, & again on Saturday. Or hang out and jam, listen to jamming, swim, eat pizza & ice cream, & spend time with hundreds of other people who love dance & music. Sugar Hill is August 26- 28, just south of Bloomington. Registration fee of $45 includes meals, camping, and modern plumbing. (Air conditioned bunkrooms may still be available.)
