have you filed?

Those of us who have filed, have asked for an extension on, or don’t have to file our taxes will contra to Dugan Murphy, with Dianna Davis on accordion and foot percussion, Sean Hirschten on banjo, and Vickie Stohl on guitar.

of course we’re dancing this week

Yes, we’re dancing this Tuesday night, at our regular new location, Zion.   If there’s not an update listing the band & caller, it’s usually because scheduling & travel made posting that difficult.  The calendar (right column) and twitter.com/indycontra are easier to update so likelier to have the most current info.

Open Calling

April 3rd we have open calling, 8 – 10 p.m. in our new location, Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ (just northeast of the Murat). Our new site allows us to have snacks, so feel free to bring treats to share.

Also, don’t forget to finish your taxes! They’re due on a Tuesday this year, and we want you dancing that night, not sweating over your return.

First dance in our new location, & a special visiting caller

Zion EUCC, our new location!

March 27th, 2012 will be our first dance in our new location, Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ! (Site of Gypsy Moon Ball 2011.) Here’s a map: http://bit.ly/x9vNnr

Among other benefits, Zion allows us to bring snacks, so look forward to occasional treats. (Perhaps you would like to bring them for a specific dance?)

Zion is providing free parking in their lot. On nights that they charge for Event Parking due to a Murat performance, we’ll still have some reserved spots, though not all of them.

Back to the 27th: Brian Hamshar visiting us, calling to music by Edge of Erin. Come enjoy a post-Pigtown Fling dance.

last dance at Earth House

We’re moving. Starting March 27th, we dance at Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, so this is your last chance to contra at Earth House (for the foreseeable future).

March 20th is going to be a hot, fun dance. Music by Coffee Zombies with Ryan Smith calling. This  is also your last chance to stretch, warm up, and get “in shape” for a whole weekend of dancing in Cincinnati. Don’t miss it. You don’t want to be stiff & sore & worn out on Saturday morning!

We’re Moving!

Indy Contra is moving to Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, starting March 27, 2012.  If you attended Gypsy Moon Ball 2011, you loved the larger hall, clean modern restrooms, ample parking, excellent outdoor lighting, water fountains, and other amenities.

You’ll love them just as much every Tuesday night, starting at  8 – 10 p.m., with an intro for new dancers at 7:40.

Please help spread the word.

Emily Ann Thompson & caller Ken Gall

February 28th, usually the last day of the month, but this is Leap Year. It’s still a Tuesday, so we’re contra dancing!

It’s also the evening of our annual membership meeting, with election of board members. We won’t be voting on by-laws amendments though.

The meeting, at the break, should take 5 – 10 minutes.
