Basics, tips to be a great partner, & etc.
Sometimes we learn best by doing, sometimes by hearing, watching, etc. Contra dancers in Atlanta made a series of YouTube videos to help folks become skilled, courteous, & desired dancers faster.

Coffee Zombies with David Ernst calling
September 13 features music by the Coffee Zombies and calling by David Ernst.
Although it’s a 2nd Tuesday, there’s NO board meeting, because we have to move them to 3rd Tuesdays for fall 2011. Everyone’s welcome next week, 9/20, at 6:30. We’re working on Gypsy Moon Ball, and even if you can’t attend, we seek volunteers to help with setup and cleanup (ask about reduced admission), snacks, and housing visiting dancers.
Board meetings
Indy Contra board meetings have moved to 3rd Tuesdays for fall 2011. We start about 6:30, and try to finish around 7:30 or 7:40. Everyone’s always welcome.
Summer’s over.

5th Wednesday = Game night!
August has a 5th Wednesday. So you know what that means…a game night! Lisa & James will be hosting it at Irvington Friends Meeting at 831 N. Edmondson St. (google map here) Indianapolis, IN 46219 from 7-9 pm on Wednesday, August 31st. Bring a new or favorite game to play and/or a refreshment that you would enjoy sharing and/or your wonderful self to add to the energy or bring all three, but mostly #3. Questions or to RSVP-contact Lisa at lisamboyles@yahoo.com or (317) 372-6983.
Root Beer Floats
Ken & Carole Gall invite all dancers to their place after the dance on August 23rd. Ken & Carole will provide Root Beer float ingredients. People are welcome to bring snacks or drinks, especially non-alcoholic ones! We are trying to keep it user friendly for the college age dancers, some of whom may be under 21. This is in part a goodbye for a dancer who will be leaving in September for a year of overseas humanitarian work, and for anybody else who wants to celebrate anything. We’ll have flyers with the map and address at Tuesday’s dance.
61st Pl. Project & Ryan Smith
