Indianapolis Ceili Band with Ryan Smith Calling
We are fortunate to have the Indianapolis Ceili Band coming to play for us on February 26th! Ryan Smith will call. Be here, clean shoes on, water bottle full, before 7:45 (7:30 if you’re new or new-ish) so you can get every possible second’s enjoyment of this band!
Entwyned with Bob Duffy Calling
Bring clean shoes
Please carry in a pair of clean shoes for dancing. The church has had the floor cleaned and refinished, and we need to take care of it. Just a small pebble or sand caught in tread will scrape the finish and start to wear it down. Arrive by 7:30 so you can change before the dance starts. See you there!
Hoosier Hill Boys with Jonathan Sivier
Tuesday 2/12 we have the Hoosier Hill Boys playing and Urbana’s Jonathan Sivier calling.
Irish, Scottish, & Canadian music on 2/5
Tonight’s dance cancelled
If you’re reading this on Tuesday, January 29, please don’t come to the dance! The newly refinished floor isn’t totally set, so we have to postpone to next week. Our apologies, especially for the last minute notice.
1/29 oh, nuts.
Nutty change of plans! On January 29th we feature Pinenuts, with Ken Gall calling. Iron Curtain Meltdown will join us another time.
Indy downtown workers:
This Thursday, January 17, the Emily Ann Thompson Band will play a short noon concert of exciting, energized Celtic music at the Indy Arts Garden (which is above the intersection of Washington and Illinois streets), 12:15 to 1:15. Come and bring your co-workers for fiddle, accordion, piano, guitar, vocals, and Irish dancing!
Board elections coming soon
The Indy Contra board will need at least one new member soon, so seeks candidates to run in our February election. We meet once a month to work on regular dance business: regular dances, equipment, bands & callers & dancers; special events, outreach and promotion, policies, etc. If you might be interested, please talk to any board member! We are way more effective and collegial than congress.
