Beyond the Basics, May 24th
All the Secrets of Contra – Revealed! This 7 p.m. workshop, led by Juliet Port & Barry Levitt, is for anyone who has been dancing a few times or a few years and would like to move beyond the basic steps to create a more enjoyable experience for everyone. Although there is no “right” or “wrong” way to do contra, you can improve your dancing! This workshop is not just a “how to” lesson. It’ll also cover safe and effective ways to do a variety of moves, a few flourishes, plus helpful tips and hints. We will practice moves to help you and your partner, neighbor or whoever else you’re dancing with at the moment get to enjoy the dance without getting hurt or confused.
Then stay & contra at 8 p.m. to music by LEDfoot & caller John Teskey.
