12/27/11 hang out at MacNiven’s

Because we can’t dance (Earth House is closed), some folks are headed to MacNiven’s, 339 Massachusetts Avenue, site the regular weekly post-dance hanging out. If you’re 18 (their rules, not ours), you’re invited. 8 p.m. to ?

Any calories you consume can be danced off in Bloomington on Wednesday.

December 27, 2011 dance canceled

We’re sorry, but due to a scheduling glitch, Indy Contra dance on Tuesday, 12/27/2011 is cancelled. We look forward to dancing to music by Entwyned & caller Ken Gall at another time.

The nearest dance opportunity is Bloomington (IN), the very next night, Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Patsy Rahn will call to music by our own Dianna Davis, with her friends Mario & Sarah.  Info at http://bloomingtoncontra.org/monthly.html

And Saturday there are New Year’s Eve dances in Bloomington, Cincinnati, and Louisville.

But for Indy, our last dance of the year will be 12/20, with Frank Buschelmann calling to Celtic Myst.

Time to get moving!

Thanksgiving, post-Thanksgiving leftovers, amazingly high calorie stuff you ate during Black Friday and/or time spent watching football, and Cyber Monday’s exercise consisted mostly of moving the mouse?

Time to get moving! Join us on November 29th to burn some calories to music by Emily Ann Thompson and Open Calling, led by Ken Gall.  Contact Ken or arrive early if you want to call.

Pinenuts? !

November 22nd we have John Teskey calling to Pinenuts!  That’s Dianna Davis, Mario Joven, Dmitri Alano, and Steve Johnson (from Bloomington). They’ll be doing Irish and swing music with clarinet and trumpet!

Gypsy Moon Ball 2011 pix

Costume winners

Photos, for those who were at Gypsy Moon Ball and want to see themselves, or for those who want to see how much fun they missed, are popping up on the web, as people post them.  You can see some of Jamie’s, and Dennis’s. (We appreciate receiving links to your albums too – please say if it’s OK for us to post images to our site & make other use of them.)

Please note: at any public event, people can & do take photos. If you have any privacy concerns about images on our site, or our facebook group, etc., email IndyContra@gmail.com. We would be glad to remove or edit our photos so you’re comfortable. (Can’t make promises for others, but we’ll do what we can, & contra dancers are usually cooperative and considerate of others.)

Movies are coming soon!
