Tuesday, the very first day of February 2011, Ken Gall calls to Open Band. Nope, “Open Band” is not the name of a specific group of people. It’s anybody & everybody who plucks, strums, taps, blows, tweets, whacks, or hums to make music for dancing. If that’s you this week, please arrive about 7:30 to get set up & warmed up.

Snow & sleet are forecast, so if the media reports that Indianapolis Public Schools cancel their evening events, we’ll cancel the dance, and Open Band will happen in just a few weeks. The next dance opportunity is Beach Party, Saturday 2/5.

…come to our dance on Saturday, 1/22, at IUPUI, where we have a totally, completely FREE, no cost, and also totally, completely FUN!!! contra dance, with music by Iron Curtain Meltdown, and calling by our (Board Member & caller, volunteer excellante, ), Ken Gall. We hope for lots of new people, never danced before, who’ve seen fliers around campus or notices on the campus website, and lots of regular, longtime contra dancers who love to introduce one of their favorite past-times to new friends.

On Tuesday, January 18th we’re having our January board meeting, which was postponed from the 11th due to snow. 6 p.m. in the Cafe at Earth House. All welcome.

We’ve had noticeably more women than men the last few weeks, so this is a great time to come dance if you’re either a guy who wants to be in demand, or a gal who wants to try or practice “leading.”
