February 2nd we have Emily Ann Thompson playing, with Open calling.
If you’re reading this on Tuesday, January 29, please don’t come to the dance! The newly refinished floor isn’t totally set, so we have to postpone to next week. Our apologies, especially for the last minute notice.
Nutty change of plans! On January 29th we feature Pinenuts, with Ken Gall calling. Iron Curtain Meltdown will join us another time.
This Thursday, January 17, the Emily Ann Thompson Band will play a short noon concert of exciting, energized Celtic music at the Indy Arts Garden (which is above the intersection of Washington and Illinois streets), 12:15 to 1:15. Come and bring your co-workers for fiddle, accordion, piano, guitar, vocals, and Irish dancing!
The Indy Contra board will need at least one new member soon, so seeks candidates to run in our February election. We meet once a month to work on regular dance business: regular dances, equipment, bands & callers & dancers; special events, outreach and promotion, policies, etc. If you might be interested, please talk to any board member! We are way more effective and collegial than congress.
Planning your spring dance calendar?
Urbana’s Dan Jam!!! (yes, 3 !) offers an absolutely free Friday night contra, Saturday night waltz & Cajun dance, pizza party & other activities on March 2nd & 3rd.

It’s cold and we’re not dancing, but just as gardeners are currently picking out seeds for spring planting, we can make plans for spring dancing!
Even though we’re not dancing for a few weeks, we have lots to look forward to, including February 12, Mardi Gras, and April 9, lots of librarians arriving for ACRL conference. We hope for guests!
On January 15th dancers are meeting for dinner, flier posting in various downtown sites, and karaoke at Si Green’s Pub. Drop us a note if you’re interested.
