November 30th is sure to be an exciting evening, as we’ve got Deborah Denenfeld, a new (to us) caller visiting from Louisville, KY. Deborah’s a good friend to contra dancers from around the midwest and beyond, and has just led a series of dances for soldiers at Ft. Knox with PTSD and TBI.
Sad news on Thanksgiving, as the site of Gypsy Moon Ball, the activity center at Belzer Boy Scout Camp, was destroyed by fire. News reports are that the hall was insured, and will be re-built. Sad as we are, fear not, the Indy Contra board is working on backup plans for GMB 2011, and in communication with the scouts about a good floor for dancing.
Don’t wait until after Thanksgiving to burn off that turkey (or tofurky), join us Tuesday for guest caller Wendy Graham, visiting from Colorado, and music by Emily Ann Thompson.
Contra dancers, join us for a special event on Thursday, 11/18 from 7 – 9 p.m. at Earth House. We expect a group of 20 or more new dancers, and experienced Indy Contra folks get free admission in exchange for helping them try it out!
