Hoosier Partner – October 12-14, 2018
Indianapolis is gearing up for another amazing weekend of dancing for the second annual Hoosier Partner dance weekend! This year’s lineup will feature a weekend-long collaboration of many of your favorite Midwestern bands and callers! So what happens when you mix old-time with Irish with funk and international style in a never-before-heard fusion band? We wish we could tell you more but we aren’t even sure what incredible mash-ups will appear throughout the weekend!
The lineup includes the best of Midwest talent including Baba Yaga’s Stew, Meadowhawk, Turnip the Beet, and Wild Rumpus. Each band will appear in their original arrangements, but here’s the catch. Throughout the weekend, band members from each group will mix in new collaborations to give dancers a new and unique musical experience all weekend long. Unique partnerships of different instrumentations, playing styles, musical backgrounds, and experiences will be all in one place and one weekend!
Calling for you will be the fantastic trio Maggie Jo Saylor, Alex Deis-Lauby, and Lauren Peckman. These talented female callers will make this weekend an unforgettable dance experience with their energy and enthusiasm, their clear teaching, and their fresh and fun dance programming. Mixing and matching with our musicians throughout the weekend, our callers will ensure that no two dance sets are alike. Don’t miss the chance to dance to so many of your favorite callers and bands all in one weekend!
