  • Minutes of the ITMDG Board Meeting October 19, 2004

    
    Present were Fiona, Juliet, Susan, Tony and Jan
    
    The Board approved the August Minutes
    Susan Meyer delivered the Financial Report
    a.	Attendance has been light for the last couple of months, so the group has been losing money, on balance.  Some of the losses are largely due to the higher rent earlier in the year.  The account is healthy.
    b.	The Board approved the Financial Report.
    c.	The Board approved $50 to update the vinyl banner if it could be done by Gypsy Moon.
    Scheduling
    d.	Current Quarter.
    i.	10/19 Nils Fredland and Mock Turtle Soup.
    ii.	Nothing else
    e.	2005 Schedule
    i.	03/08 Morrison Brothers Band -- From Charlottsville, VA
    ii.	03/22 Kitchen Chair & Bev Bernbaum.
    iii.	05/10 Contronella & Tom and Myra 
    iv.	Checking for a January Special Band
    v.	All for standard special band rates
    2004 Saturday/Weekend dances
    f.	February only, on February 26th
    g.	Charlie Harvey Tentatively Booked
    h.	Still need to schedule bands
    i.	Offer to Deb to put together a Bloomington band with prices consistent with last year
    j.	Tony to provide sound
    Gypsy Moon ball preliminary 2005 plans
    k.	Talent
    i.	Need  ideas for callers and bands
    l.	Full weekend?
    i.	Not unless there is a groundswell of helpers, as the current dance is at the limit of what the main worker bee board members can handle. 
    ii.	Put forth the proposal at the annual meeting, and see if we can get solid commitments from members to work if they want a three day dance.
    Grants
    m.	The Target grant did not go through.  We do not know why at this time.
    Elections
    n.	Susan, Fiona, Juliet, and Ted are ending there terms.
    o.	Annual meeting and election were accepted by the Board for 02/15/2005.
    p.	This will be the next full Board Meeting.
    q.	There will be a brief “wrap” meeting after GMB, perhaps on November 2 or 9 before dance.
    Gypsy Moon Ball 2004
    r.	Extend early bird registrations through 10-19-04
    s.	Cabin is available.
    t.	The Board discusses tasks and times and made last minute arrangements.
