    Indy Contra: Gypsy Moon Ball De-briefing, 11/13/2007


    Gypsy Moon Ball

    * Vicky has planning sheet that we can use to keep things straight in the future. Includes information about what the bands will need, payment agreement, time/schedule information, etc.
    * Need a Gypsy King/Queen to head things up (coordinating communication, etc.)
    * Idea: have volunteer sign-up sheets at the sign-in table, with lots of time slots (maybe 15-30 minute increments)
    * Use FionaÕs checklist, break up tasks so a few people wonÕt be doing a lot of work.
    * Finances: We made enough to cover the cost of Gypsy Moon Ball, but Chris will get back to the group with firm numbers. Will want to budget about the same amount for next yearÕs GMB.
    * No more bandanas or t-shirts next year; they donÕt sell well.
    * Jan wants to create a GMB quilt with the old bandanas (and t-shirts?) and action it off. SheÕs going to contact Janette about helping with the quilting.
    * Scholarships: Need to be a permanent part of GMB, and need to be clear about whatÕs expected of those receiving scholarships.
    * Next year: need to get place reserved, need to get talent locked in as soon as possible. Need suggestions for bands/callers (Chicory wants to come back. Other possibilities are Nils Friedland, Cosmic Otters.)
    * Need to start Beach Party & GMB to-do lists. Need to get spaces booked within the next couple of weeks.


    Danish musicians

    Jim Voght has contact with Danish musicians who will be touring the US. Board votes to pay them the regular out-of-town rate ($130) + mileage from Cincinatti (b/c theyÕre doing a gig there before coming to Indy) and housing (maybe with Ken and Carole)

    Board Members Contact List

    JaenaÕs collecting contact information for all of the current board members, and some previous members. SheÕll get that to the group as soon as she can.
