Minutes of the ITMDG Board Meeting October 11, 2006

Attendants: Juliet, Fiona, Chris, Tony, Susan, Daniel

1) Minutes from last meeting not available, will be available for next meeting

2) Financial Report- not available, Chris will bring to button part at Fiona's

3) Schedule

a) Schedule went out first week in October

b) GMB flier was sent with schedule

c) Juliet will host caller in October; Fiona will host out of town couple on October 31st

4) General Organizery Things

a) One of the mics is giving up, the monitor needs to be checked as well. Tony will look into these things

b) Car allowance polling has not been conducted. Juliet will look into this

c) Daniel needs a senior project for anthropology and would like to use the dance group. Suggested topic includes the lack of volunteerism. Board agrees it is fine to be his "test subjects"

5) Gypsy Moon Ball

a) Bloomington Friday dance is confirmed

i) Changeling and Darlene Underwood

ii) Harmony School from 8-11

b) Publicity

i) Flier went out with quarterly newsletter;

ii) Batch went out at Sugar Hill

iii) Emails were sent to yahoo groups and other (rec. folk-dance, contrac dance, heartland dance and list from last year)

iv) Website was updated

v) Dancers are encouraged to "spread the word" another announcement will be made

c) Admission - same as last year (see minutes from last meeting)

d) Talent

i) Cosmic Otters and the Monks

(1) Cosmic Otters have stayed at Vicki's house in past, will ask if that's okay again

(2) Monks probably don't need housing and will drive to B-town but need to ask

ii) Nils Fredland and Susan Moffett

(1) Need to secure housing
