Indianapolis Contra Dances

BOTMDG hosts a Friday night contra with Seth & Chicory, at the Harmony School in Bloomington, IN (50 miles south of Indianapolis). Details on BOTMDG website.

TRAVEL:
Follow construction zone speed limits and watch for extra enforcement as Interstate speed limits quickly drop from 70 mph to 65, 60, and 55 mph around Indy.

FRIDAY to BLOOMINGTON from north, east, or west: Take I 70 to 465 South (heading clockwise or counterclockwise) to 37 South. Drive about an hour. Once in Bloomington, this becomes Walnut. Take it to 3rd Street. Turn Left to go East a few blocks. 3rd curves to become Atwater. At the 1st stop (Woodlawn) turn Right. Then turn Left onto Hunter. In just a few houses turn Right into the school parking lot. Use this map for more details.

All Gypsy Moon Ball 2008 events Saturday & Sunday are at a new location, the International School of Indiana (less than 2 short miles off I 65, here's a map).

Saturday, to the dance, in 2 steps:
Step One:
From BLOOMINGTON: Take 37 North to 465 North/East (counterclockwise) to I 65 North, to exit 116. Turn Left onto 30th Street and drive less than 1/2 mile to Martin Luther King Dr. . .

From OHIO or ILLINOIS: Take I 70 to the east side of downtown Indianapolis then get on I 65 heading North to exit 116. Turn Left onto 30th Street and drive less than 1/2 mile to Martin Luther King Dr. . .

From NORTH: Take 465 to NorthWest Indianapolis, get onto I 65 South to exit 117. Take Martin Luther King North (it turns into Michigan Rd.). . .

Step Two (this ones' much easier!)
Martin Luther King becomes Michigan Rd. while you're heading North for about 1.7 miles.
Turn Left at this this big sign, at its own light then turn Left to go to the tan metal building you see behind the sign.

HOUSING:
Friday night: Email BausXXXATalumni.indiana.edu, but take out the XXX and change AT.

Saturday night: Please call housing coordinator, Ken, at 317-488-7751 to request housing with local dancers. (Bring bedding!) Tent camping at the International School is free and we have 24 hour access to showers, restrooms, and kitchen! Hotels and more info

ACTIVITIES Bloomington, Saturday - activities include Farmers' Market and Local Clay Potters' Gild show and sale.
