Celebration Dance Weekend 4!

When?

June 30 - July 2, 2006

Who?

The Hotpoint Stringband, will be the featured band. Characterized by their eclectic mix of high-energy original and traditional old-time and Celtic fiddle tunes, Hotpoint is also known for their ability to maintain a deep groove at any tempo.. RON BUCHANAN caller par excellence from Pittsburgh, will delight dancers with his fun calling of great contras and interesting squares on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

The Friday Evening Dance will feature a variety of exciting callers from the Midwest.

Where?

The dances will be held at the Indy Sportsplex in Whitestown Indiana, just north of Indianapolis. This wonderful facility is Air Conditioned and has a Sprung Floor with a good dance finish.

Why?

This weekend will celebrate with music, dance and good spirits. You are invited to bring your own best reasons for celebration – they will be submitted to the callers and shared with the community.

Registration and Sharing.

The cost of the full weekend is $70, and includes as many workshops as you choose.

Early Bird Registration costs $60, to be postmarked before June 15, 2006.

Pre-registration is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome.

New this year: Hot Camper Breakfast $5 includes both mornings, scrambled eggs (with mushrooms, onions and cheese) and turkey sausage, plus rolls, coffee/tea. Sign up on registration form or let us know when you arrive.

Saturday Catered Dinner: A buffet with meat and veggie options is available for $10 per person. Please join us. Dancing during dinner.

Work Scholarships will be available, involving 4 hours of work assistance (floor sweeping, registration table, snacks, etc.). This will save you half the cost of the weekend.

Refunds will be given, minus a $10 processing fee, if we are informed in writing before June 28th that you will not be able to attend. After that time, contact Lisa Ornstein at 773-338-3605

Volunteers:

As you all know, it takes many wonderful people to make an event happen. Please plan to make a short amount of time available to share in a volunteer task. Sign up at the registration desk.

Food:

We will have a potluck on Friday evening. Everyone is invited to bring foods to share, such as raw veggies, fruit, chips, cheese baked goods.

Catered Dinner on Saturday ($10 per person, meat or veggie)

Ice Cream Treats on Sat.

Bagels and fruit on Sunday. Light breakfast for campers ( donation requested).
